Most so-called colon cleaning or detoxing kits have not been tested by the FDA (food and drug administration) and many make false claims. For example, have you heard of the detox patches that attach to the bottom of your feet? Those are a total crock of you know what. Live by the addage, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." If you really want to detox your body and lose weight, your best bet is to try the raw food diet, or become vegetarian. A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables will not only help you lose weight, but it will fortify your body with much needed nutrients. If you can't make a major dietary change, try getting rid of a few things such as alcohol, soda, and processed junk foods. Buy the "dirty dozen" foods in organic if you can. Just make health substitutions such as ice tea for soda, and fruit for candy. There is an entire chapter dedicated to greening your diet in the book. I hope you will take the time to peruse it.
Bottom line, don't buy into the fads. Just do what is tried, true, and healthy. Eat good, use organic when you can, exercise, and try not to pollute your body with drugs and alcohol.
